my story

A lifelong lover of words and writing, I began publishing romantic fiction in my mid-twenties under my name, Emily A. Myers. My fiction works reflect my heart and soul as a woman. At times, they’ve also reflected my wounds and worries. My novels are both my mirror and my fantasy, and as I’ve evolved, so have they. From restrained yet suspenseful early romance works to steamy yet emotionally-driven Mafia romances to layered small town romances, my backlist represents my evolution as a writer and a woman. And I’d be naive to say that evolution ends here.

I'm excited to announce a brand new romance series called Letters of Love is in development. This series will revisit some of the locations from my backlist, as well as, some of my reader's favorite supporting characters. But it will also introduce new literary worlds, and showcase a new kind of romantic storytelling for this author who has now learned the difference between chasing love and resting in love.

I'm also excited to begin writing under the pen name, Emily Roberts Marshall, to publish faith-driven non-fiction and one day, Christian children's books. This is a persona born from my own story, both the story of the romance writer who finally found true love in Jesus and the story of the woman who lost her father, Robert Marshall, and infant nephew, Marshall Luke, to cancer. This pen name is a combination of both their names, and the works I plan to publish will be in their honor.

Throughout my evolution as a writer, two things have remained constant—my desire to tell an amazing, heartfelt story and my belief in the power of storytelling. Stories—regardless of genre—have the power to change lives. Stories have the ability to connect on a soul level with each reader in a different way. Where does the story go from here? Only time will tell. One thing is certain. I am a writer not by profession but by purpose. As such, I will always write the stories begging to be told. I will always write what matters to me.

write what matters.

You Can Always Come Home

A Small Town Second Chance Romance

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 • The words within these pages are absolutely poetic. Every sentence breathes eloquence. I absolutely swooned over the words Noah spoke. He was always able to elicit immense passion with his language. And, it wasn’t just Noah. The surrounding words were equally full of emotion. Just beautiful.

𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 • A story of survival in so many ways. It begins with Emerson, flows into Noah, and continues to hover over them throughout the story. I’m not sure if two characters have ever deserved that happily ever after more than Emerson and Noah!

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 • For Emerson and Noah, they are truly each other’s safe place. At the beginning, the found family and comfort that Emerson finds with Noah and his family was one of the most fulfilling aspects of this story. In time, just the knowledge that the other was out there was what kept them going…the hope that one day they would find their way back to one another.

𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 • The utter turmoil that occurs in Emerson and Noah’s lives is heart-wrenching. I can’t even count how many times I cried.

𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 • The symbolism with this is paramount for Emerson and Noah. The promises that were made when they were young follow them through the hardships. A testament to the knowledge that true love can survive the utmost challenges.
