Faith Meets Fiction: The New Era of Storytelling Has Arrived

When it comes to choosing what I'll write next, the decision often depends on two variables. One, am I writing a series that dictates which book I write next? Two, if I have the freedom to write something entirely new, which idea sticks around the longest? Which idea do I find myself developing without even meaning to? This time that is Sweet Refuge.

Sweet Refuge will introduce my readers to a brand new setting, loosely inspired by the city I live in, and a new vein of storytelling from this author. This story follows Bear and Isabella. They are co-workers at a Christian coffee-shop. Bear is immediately put off by Bella's positive and endearing spirit and he becomes her close-quarters bully. But when Bella learns of his struggles, she's the only one to lend a helping hand and give him a place to live.

Bear soon learns that Bella isn't the perfect, preppy Christian girl he thought she was. She has her own struggles, including being dumped by her long-time boyfriend due to potential infertility. Bear witnesses Bella's strength and kindness in the face of heartache and he is inspired to seek the same strength in the Lord while becoming Bella's strength, friend, and much more.

Sweet Refuge is The Hating Game meets Redeeming Love. My hope is that it is the perfect blend of faith and fiction, an enjoyable, entertaining read full of heart, emotional depth, and faithful hope.

This project is special. Aren't they all? But Project 31: A Year of Becoming A Proverbs 31 Woman might just be my most impactful book yet.

Next year, I will turn 31, so it feels like the perfect time--the only time--for me to write this specific book. Over the span of my 31st year, I will commit myself to becoming a Proverbs 31 woman. Each month of writing and becoming will center on a different characteristic presented in Proverbs 31.

Project 31 will chronicle my transformation while aiding women on their own transformation. It will be part memoir, part devotional, part guided journal meant to be read and completed over the span of a year.

If it seems hard to imagine right now, trust me, I have an amazing plan for this book. It is the perfect extension of my Woman In The Word blog. And this is the perfect time for a project just like this.

When this book releases in 2027, it will be a book unlike any other I've written and it will serve to expand the faith branch of my faith meets fiction business.
